From all of those clamouring for more to be done for refugees and for governments to demonstrate humanity there is a marked lack of charity towards anyone who dares to show anything less than full agreement with their views.
Now I too find some people’s views repugnant, but they are entitled to an opinion as much as I or anyone else is and to start calling them names is to lower myself into the gutter.
Amongst some of those who have been demanding that the UK do more, especially those on the political left, there has been a shocking display of bigotry. Come on guys, stop telling the test of us to show more humanity and step up to the plate yourselves; just because someone has a different opinion it does not make them “vermin” or a “scumbag” no matter how abhorrent their view might be to you.
